Official Colour
For Printed material please use Pantone Purple: (C43%, M91%, Y0%, K0%).
For websites and the Internet please use RGB(153, 51, 102) [Hexadecimal: #993366] used either in the foreground or the background.
Rationale
All parties have colours associated with them, for example the Conservatives use blue. This is most prominent when it comes to candidate's rosettes at election time. Such strong association with colours allows members of the public to quickly identify candidates of any particular party.
Contrasting Colours
Our rosette colour is Purple, and should be featured prominently on the site. It can appear as foreground or background colour, provided the contrasting colour looks smart, and the result is readable. The preferred complementary colour is yellow. However, this is not mandatory.
Additional colours often used are white, cream and grey. Main text should normally be dark (black or dark grey). Headlines may be in a different colour.
